Press Release-April 15, 2014- Chemical Device at Husky Corners

Monday April 14, 2014 @ 1953 Hrs. Bloomsburg Police responded along with the Bloomsburg Fire Department responded to Husky Corners located at 300 E. 2nd St. for a chemical explosive device. The device, manufactured with a plastic bottle, tinfoil and “Drano” burst in a second floor hallway. No one was injured when the device burst.

The chemical reaction, when tinfoil and Drano are combined in a sealed bottle causes the bottle to expand until the bottle bursts, spraying the Drano in all directions.

Bloomsburg Fire Department handled the hazardous clean up. Police have little information and would like to speak with anyone who may have information relating to this incident. Contact Officer Melanie Readler @ 570-784-4155 Ext 163 Or e-mail mreadler@bloomsburgpa.org
